About Regalia
Regalia is comprised of the five main continents: Ordin, Dracodia, Eminence, Hamlet, Wyndrove. All of these major land masses make up a big part of Regalia for their Imperial Majesty's Dominion. Founded upon the coronation of Empress Regalia for its grandeur display. It's been a flood of tourism and major development. Unfortunately, there were pioneers from the New Terra colonies that first claimed its discovery but never made any major headlines. It was the discovery of Hyperium that drove the masses to split and resort to conflict to stake a claim on the resource deposits.
New TerraHumanity's first interstellar government formed by the United Nations as an effort to keep Lunar colonists and Mars-born citizens a part of the Earth governing body. The political structure works similar to a democracy where there's national members and planetary members that vote for law changes, passing on edicts or decision making. Although having many political parties, there remains three major parties: Liberal (Socialist and social-political reform), Celestial Earth (Conservative of traditional Earth), and Illuminant (Anarcho-Capitalism). Around the time of the newly elected party, Celestial Earth, activist groups have sprung into action, attacking their digital servers and destroying plans of improvements and striping citizenship of members. Leaving the entire government literally blind as they'd have no data being received to comprehend what's going on.
The hacking delinquents purposefully left digital footprints on randomised IPs that lead to the arrest, and expulsion of a group of people that'd be known as the 'Exiles.' The Pioneers
Seeking independence from New Terra, these people are adventurous and motivated explorers who'd spotted out a promising planet with the Hubble telescope. The New Terra government made a compromise for them, whereas they'd be granted independence from the government, but will have to continuously transmit data to New Terra who'll have full rights to it. Due to the travel distance, cryogenics were installed upon the space-capable vessel, waking up the occupants many decades in the future after mostly 'gliding' through with the help of inertia. Upon their arrival to the destination of the unnamed planet, they found it to be hospitable. Staking a claim on the planet, they begun to construct up their settlements, resources provided by New Terra before the trip. However, due to the distance of the planet to Earth, registration of the planet couldn't be done officially nor ratified. It wasn't until several years after the settling of the planet a new unknown fleet that were seen in orbit, began their descent to the surface. The Pioneers recognised their appearances as being Human, unknown to them was that it were the Imperial Dominion colonising what's to be called as 'Regalia.' Hyperium Conflict
In a late period of time during the Dominion's golden age, geologists that were collaborating with the pioneers in hopes of achieving a point of cooperation with New Terra, struck upon a major finding that'd leave a distinctive scar on the planet's history. First mistaken to be a new source of Utopian due to its relative physical similarities, it wasn't until an accident with handling of the material confirm that it was made up of something else. |
Imperial DominionOrigins
An Empire founded upon a foundation of New Terra exiles, these people have been ostracised, revoked of their housing and expelled after being labelled as conspirators against the newly elected political party. The exiles were sent through an experimental warp gate that shot them light years away from Earth, leaving the lonely souls to colonise a nearby planet that's almost suitable for Human life. However, the environments were vicious, crawling on the surface are the evolved life forms that'd be the apex predators of the planet.
Testing it in the Hyperdrive cores was the only way to consume the mineral, test results state that it had 100x the efficiency of standard fuel and was at least 3x as fast. Making it a viable fuel for Faster-Than-Light travelling capabilities. The pioneers who had helped the geologists expected to be entitled to some of the deposits were refused the right by the Imperial Dominion. Leading to outrage with the former owners and the coalition of the Colonial Pioneers Association. Again, even with the protests of the Association, the Dominion denied their rights to it. An uprising occurred. Information about the events happening on Regalia reached the New Terra government, striking an interest, they begun to supply the Association with military graded weapons, further sparking the conflict. Both sides exchanged fire and have focused most of the war efforts on Eminence where it's believed to have a large deposit of Hyperium. The relation with the Dominion and New Terra remain coldly.
